Cave Tubing FAQs

Belize Cave Tubing Location?

Belize cave tubing location is primarily found in the central inland region of the country, where limestone cave systems and jungle rivers intersect, most notably along the Caves Branch River traversing the Nohoch Che'en Cave. This cave is found at the famous Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological reserve, which is located at Mile 37 George Price Highway between Belmopan and Belize City, just a 45 minutes drive from the Philip Golson International Airport in Belize City (see below on Google Maps for an overall perspective). Its location makes it the most accessible cave tubing location in Belize. The caves run through protected tropical forest and are part of a larger karst landscape made up of underground rivers, sinkholes, and caverns. Because of its central position, this Belize cave tubing location can be reached easily from inland resorts, coastal destinations, and major transportation routes, serving as the primary hub for cave tubing, cave kayaking, and jungle zipline all in the same park.

Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve is the ONLY park in Belize that all these activities can be done in the same location without the need of any extra travel time between activities, all are accessible like a 10mins walk from each other.

Cave Tubing From San Pedro, Ambergris Caye?

Visiting San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, and hoping to experience Belize's famous cave tubing? Absolutely! While the adventure takes place on the mainland, it's an easy and rewarding day trip when planned correctly. Your journey begins with a scenic water taxi ride from San Pedro to the Belize City Water Taxi Terminal, which takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the ferry terminal, one of our professional guides will be waiting to greet you and provide comfortable transportation directly to the Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve, located about an hour inland. At the end of your adventure, we'll return you safely to the Belize City ferry terminal in plenty of time to board your water taxi back to San Pedro. Water Taxi runs between San Pedro and Belize City operate several times daily, making it convenient to plan a same-day excursion.
To make the most of your day, we highly recommend taking one of the earliest morning ferries from San Pedro. An early departure allows you to enjoy the tour at a relaxed pace without worrying about catching your return boat. The earlier you arrive, the more flexibility you'll have to explore the caves, take photos, enjoy the jungle surroundings, and avoid feeling rushed. Since your return schedule depends on the water taxi timetable, starting early helps ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.

Because all tours are coordinated around the San Pedro–Belize City water taxi schedule, we recommend booking your ferry tickets in advance and sharing your arrival and departure times with us. Our team carefully plans your transportation and tour itinerary to ensure you have plenty of time to enjoy your experience while returning to the ferry terminal for your scheduled departure back to San Pedro. With proper planning, cave tubing from San Pedro is one of the most unforgettable day trips you can experience in Belize, combining island life with the country's incredible jungle, caves, and ancient Maya history.

Cave Tubing from Placencia & Hopkins, Belize?

Planning cave tubing from Placencia or Hopkins is all about making the most of your day and allowing enough time to travel comfortably between the coast and Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve in central Belize. You can drive in to our location or use our private pickup and return transportation from Placencia, Hopkins, and surrounding resorts, so you don't have to arrange separate transportation or worry about navigating the highways yourself. Because Placencia is considerably farther south, we recommend an early morning departure, ideally around 6:30–8:00 AM. Guests staying in Hopkins can generally leave later because of the shorter driving distance.

From Placencia, you should expect approximately 2 to 2½ hours of driving each way, depending on your exact pickup location, road conditions, and traffic. The route takes you north from the Placencia Peninsula and through some of Belize's most beautiful inland scenery before continuing toward the Caves Branch area. Because of the distance, we treat the journey as a full-day excursion rather than trying to squeeze the experience into a tight schedule. An early departure means there is time for stops when needed and, most importantly, allows you to enjoy your day without constantly worrying about the drive back to Placencia.

From Hopkins, the trip is considerably shorter, generally requiring around 1½ hours each way, depending on your pickup point and current road conditions. This makes Hopkins particularly convenient for a day trip to Nohoch Che'en. A typical morning pickup allows plenty of time for the drive, the tour itself, lunch or a short stop afterward, and a comfortable return to Hopkins during the afternoon.

All pickup times are coordinated by us depending on location, group size, selected activities, and preferred return time. If you're combining cave tubing with ziplining or another inland attraction, we'll plan the day's itinerary before departure so you know approximately how long you'll be away from your resort.

The biggest recommendation we can give guests traveling from Placencia or Hopkins to Nohoch Che'en is simple: start early and don't rush the day. Belize may look small on a map, but traveling from the southern coast into the interior takes time. With private or own transportation and a properly planned itinerary, the journey becomes part of the experience, and you'll have enough time to enjoy your adventure before we return you directly to your hotel or resort in Placencia or Hopkins.

Life is meant for good friends and great adventures!
